Yes, it's true.  Jamie reads every single e-mail himself because he likes hearing from you :-)  However, that doesn't mean that he's going to answer your e-mail.  So, please don't set yourself up to be disappointed by expecting an answer when you e-mail him.  Instead, EXPECT THAT JAMIE WON'T REPLY TO YOUR E-MAIL and just be content that he personally enjoyed hearing whatever it was that you had to say.  I know, you think that if you e-mail him a hundred times then he'll think it's cute, how dedicated you are and all, and then answer you.  But what's the rule?  EXPECT THAT JAMIE WON'T REPLY TO YOUR E-MAIL and just be content that he personally enjoyed hearing whatever it was that you had to say. 

Lots and lots and LOTS of people e-mail Jamie to ask him for something ... to donate items for charitable causes, to appear as host or guest speaker at charitable causes - lots of things.  If whatever you're asking for is TIME SENSITIVE then you need to be aware that while Jamie does read his own e-mail, he reads it when he has the time to do it.   So, whether it's because he didn't see your e-mail in time, or whether it's because he has something else scheduled, or for whatever reason - if you don't hear from him, please just consider that a "no, thanks."   Sending him an e-mail, requesting something from him, in no way obligates him to acknowledge your request.  That's not to say he won't.  Just don't EXPECT it.  Better to be happily surprised than disappointed.
